Privacy Policy

Pairin ("we", "us", "our") runs pairin.dev, a community for finding pair-programming partners. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it. Pairin is currently in beta, and this policy will be updated as the product matures.

What we collect

• Account information — your email address and password (stored encrypted) when you sign up, plus any profile details you choose to add (name, bio, tech stack, avatar).
• Activity data — pair requests, offers, sessions, and retro feedback you create or submit while using Pairin, so the product can function.
• Usage analytics — we use PostHog to understand how Pairin is used (pages visited, features used) so we can improve it. This may include session replay of in-app usage. We do not sell this data.
• Essential cookies — a session cookie and a CSRF token cookie, required to keep you signed in and to protect your account from cross-site request forgery. These aren't used for advertising.

How we use it

To run the core product (matching you with pairing partners, showing your requests and sessions), to send transactional email (confirmations, pairing notifications, retro nudges) via our email provider, Mailjet, and to understand and improve how Pairin is used. We don't use your data for ads, and we don't sell it to third parties.

Retro visibility

Session retros are private between the two participants by default. You choose, per retro, whether to make it public to other signed-in Pairin members via Session Summaries. Nothing you write is shared publicly unless you explicitly opt in.

Your choices

You can update or delete your profile information at any time from your account settings. To request full deletion of your account and associated data, contact us using the details below.
